20 Shades of Print

Currently, Kim K inspired monotone ensembles and nudes, and grays, and blushes, are ALL THE RAGE. Yeah, these styles are chic as chic comes. These color choices are clean and simple. I like the style! However, I'm not about to just transition away from my personal style for the sake of being "on trend". I've been wearing precisely what I want to wear for some time now. And that's some of everything.

More than anything, I love a #lit ol' print. Stripes & floral. Leopard with black & white. A complex, retro print. A classic, subtle one. A cultural print. Big print. Small print. Neon print. Print on print on print. It's my thing.

This (ongoing) post is dedicated to the most significant segment of my personal style. #AllPrintEverything

Take One
featuring Grass-Fields

The Anuli skater skirt from Grass-Fields is one sassy little baby. I could have easily paired it with a black top, but it was no fun when I tried that. So I added a less bold, black based print on top (gridde crop top). This skirt is S - 4X (I'm wearing a 2X, runs a little large at the waist) currently just $32.69 this week only! You're welcome :)

Take Two
Featuring Grass-Fields

I rock my prints poolside, too. The Moni top is a super flared, vibrant crop top that can be adjusted on or off your shoulders. Perfect piece for this heat. as I feel like it's not even there. I wore this piece poolside over the weekend before slipping on some jeans and continuing with the day. This fiesta ready, blogger fave is available for us all,  in sizes Small - 4X, and today it's only $28.82! I'm wearing a 2X, sized up. Take your outfit to the next level and add the Moni headwrap while you're at it. Prints on prints on prints.

Take Three
Featuring Voel My Passie

My birthday was Friday! And I felt regal as ever draped in VMP. I just loveee an intricately printed, well made, stiff maxi skirt + sexy top. Balance. I celebrated my 26th in style. Check me out! Get your  customized Cherry Blossom maxi garment here.

Take 4
Featuring Eleven 60

Trendy threads are all good. But, printed retro (inspired) pieces will forever have a chunk of my heart. Because you have to have the persona to truly rock them. They activate "style". This Flower Bomb gown (I'm wearing a 2X) from Eleven 60 is vintage, over-the-top, and gorg!

Take 5 & 6
Featuring Grass-Fields

Today is the last day to scoop up your Grass-Fields gems up to 60% off! And I just want to lay the greatness of the Mathy set on your heart. This set features a strapless, sweetheart, (super) peplum top and matching pants. Yesssss bold printed set! I casually wore the set together with another pop of bold (statement neckpiece) from Boutique 115 and (flat sandals). Balance. In the evening, I swapped out my bottoms for a nude bodycon midi, toned down my jewelry, and added leopard printed heels. I could have gone super casual and wore just my pants with an oversized denim top and nude sandals/ fringed bag. This set is the DOPE purchase that keeps giving! #MixAndMatch, which is your style?

Take 7
Featuring Grass-Fields

When your printed maxi is lit, so you don't have to do much extra >
Yeah. That's the Linna dress for you. A little color on my lips, an accessory, and i'm out. Simplicity.
(I am wearing a 2X, was slightly oversized). Get yours while it's still $60 off

Take 8
Featuring Bagz n Ragz

Why yes, I certainly am Yummy with a Tummy, fat sitting free. You didn't know? :)

At the blink of an eye, i'm likely to switch my style up. One minute my pastel colored dress may graze the floor. The next minute, i'm dressed in all black like the Omen. Nowadays, I like to add a  more reserved statement piece to sexy outfits like this one. You know ... balance. You get my breasts to chin from the front, but i'm fully covered from the back. The boots come from Ashley Stewart. I took a chance and purchased them because I'd been wanting some forever. They did not fit. I repeat: DID NOT FIT! While they're supposed to be plus friendly, they still didn't stand a chance against the thunder hunny. I  flipped the L & took them to a cobbler to get elastic added.

Seven (Non-Fashion) Things I Want for my Birthday

With my 26th birthday (and Curves, Cupcakes, & Confidence) being precisely one week away ... I'm naturally all the way turned up. I'm just soooo excited to be alive and well, if about nothing else. A few of my readers and followers have personally contacted me about what's on the birthday girls' wish list. To be quite transparent, I'm not nearly as materialistic and "bougie" as I'm perceived, So I never have high expectations when it comes to gifts. I have a simple living space, simple electronics, I do simple things for entertainment purposes. Beyond my fashion sense, I'm sort of a simple girl living a not-so-simple life.

Anyway, here is a list of some of the random, yet very desired and/ or necessary things I wish to obtain for my birthday:

1) Afrocentric Shower Curtain & Poster
I've been wanting to redo my bathroom for a while, but, commercial shower curtains are so blahhhh. This is why my current one is black. So, not me. Now THIS, is me.

2) Nostalgic Box Sets
I have 3 favorite TV shows that can never be replaced. Martin (got the box set for my birthday a few years back), Family Matters, and Moesha. After I get the others, I'm abandoning life to binge watch.

2) Large Makeup Organizer
Because: structure! I literally have articles of makeup everywhere. In every purse, in every room, at my spot, at my mom's house ... everywhere. With a million tiny insufficient organizers to store my supplies. That's not a good match. This is.

3) Belgian Waffle Maker
I know you didn't think I was gonna create a fat-free list?! Nah nah nah.

4) Ring Light
Because: lit images of course!

Deals on Deck

First off, I just wanted to say I thought I was soooo cute over the weekend in my white midi dress (get it here). While the duster concealed my obnoxious backside in this white, it ended up coming off (#SueMe). It's not time, yet. I won't force it. It's HOT out here. Death to layers and outerwear at this moment in time. But this was my Outfit of the Evening

I was moreso excited to wear these boots. I've been frequently unsuccessful at finding open-toe boots to embrace these thunder, lightening, hurricane thighs/ legs of mine. And don't be fooled, I was still unsuccessful again. But this time, I found some (that refused to zip) for $24.99! So I was not returning them, hunny.

I purchased the ones all the plush girls and their mommas bought at Ashley Stewart. The lace-up feature was not adjustable, so, #AintNoDIY. I'll be promptly returning them. and gathering my $60 in coin. Please, and thank you Ashley. Their "wide width" boots stood no chance against my calves. The wide part is mostly where your foot rests.

I noticed the "You Zig, I Zag" boots at Citi Trends in the pretty caramel color for a hell of a lot cheaper and decided to give them a try. Still didn't zip all the way up. But I unraveled the strings and zipped them up anyway. I then raveled then back, skipping certain holes and tightening as I went. They're open more at the front than those with smaller legs would have them. But, these are standard sized boots, affordable, cute, WELL MADE, and lit!

#SavingsInTheCiti - Fall Peek

Fall 2016 is precisely 45 days away, and while it's certainly not time for cardigans over here in Tampa, FL (it's HOT honey), it's not too early to grab you some for the approaching transition. But, just because the weather is changing doesn't mean you have the funds for new, outerwear and layering pieces. Transitioning, fashionably and affordably, is possible and quite simple.

Accessories

Dim nails, dark lips, smokey eyes, leather bags, simple scarves, more fringe, sexy boots, & big necklaces (like this $15 beauty from RDAL) are all more quick switches that will help you appear fashionably #FallReady.

Wear Your Summer Pieces Out

Living in an area where the sun beams all year long and it's 80 degrees on Christmas, I never fully pack up my summer clothes like everyone else does. There's no snow or ice. With that being said, I keep my summer clothes out all year long. When cold fronts pass through, pieces like this super cute cardigan from Citi Trends go right on top, and I'm instantly #FloridaFallReady. You can get this cardigan in black (shown), tan, or olive, and save it for October for less than $20. Duster-like cardigans in these exact (three) colors have been popular during fall because of their ease and versatility. Similar "low end" ones also go for $50-$100 each. You can get all 3 colors for $50 HERE! You're welcome :)

Dark Colors

Dark colors make everything fall-sy. Yeah, that's not a word. But you get me. Black (instead of white), burnt orange (instead of peach & coral), mustard (instead of neon or canary yellow), olive (instead of mint green), wine/ burgundy (instead of scarlet red) are color switches that instantly make garments you may wear all year long look more season appropriate. This is the approach I usually take when transitioning, because FL weather doesn't always allow me to wear a cute jacket, scarf, or any other type of layers. It's still hot up until November, while everyone else is thriving in their Autumn cuteness. So I wear what I normally wear. In a darker color. Easy?

Wear the Lingerie! (feat. Kelly's Kloset)

As content as I am with my body, I'm not gonna sit here on this post and pretend as if every single insecurity I've carried since childhood magically disappeared the moment I decided to love myself.

There's enough of that fraudulence being showcased, so i'll instead keep it real with you. Lingerie, ALONE, makes me feel slightly apprehensive. Not because i'm afraid to show this bawdy (you've seen the swimsuit photos) ... but because, well, I'm not exactly sure why. I really can't explain it, I just feel a little anxious. So, when I find pieces that take don't come with that feeling attached, and make me feel comfortable, it's an epic win.

Kelly's Kloset offers sexy night wear for my slim baddies and my plush pals. Bras and panties, teddies, chemises, babybolls, hosiery, gowns, and rompers. A lil' bit of something, for every body! In addition to your "get-up", don't forgot to open up Kelly's Toy Box overflowing with all types of excitement for you ... and him ... and y'all :)

Skeptical, because my breasts never fit these things lol, I picked out the Sasha set (2X). I would recommend this set for my plus girls with average/ slightly above average breasts, who are concerned about their tummies. It's sexy and open in the back and drapes right over that area. I'd also recommend this piece if you're not extremely bust, but are wide. The cami and the panties both tie up (adjustable) to ensure fit. Loved the color and comfort of the Sasha set! Get you one!

My favorite piece in the wholeeee store is the Vintage Lace Gown. It's vintage with it's cream inserts and frill and bows. It's lace and soft mesh all over. It's a gown, slightly reserved, but still super sexy. It's totally my style. I'm wearing a 1X, no need to size up. I actually sized down with this one. Note; you'll need to add your own black underpiece ... or not ;)

Hope you enjoyed! Enjoy your weekend, and WEAR THE LINGERIE!

OOTD: Royal Printed Maxi

I've been on & loving African (like) prints way before they were super trendy. It's just, before, I could never find pieces in my size that were well-made and didn't break the bank. There are sooooo many options now, and I'm gracious!

One of those options are the UK-based retailer, House of Sarah 14. The site offers lined, heavy duty, quality garments available in plus and standard sizes at a reasonable price. While ordering, I'd advise you to pay extra attention to the size chart and be aware that the material has absolutely no give + zipper. Especially if you're not smaller in the middle (figure 8 shape. hourglass), you may need to elevate a size or two.

The Tom Maxi dress, which incorporates a sky blue base with white, golden yellow, navy, and bold red designs, is the piece I rocked over the weekend. It's partially lined, lightly pleated, and super adorable. You can get yours here!
