Diva Xpress at Work Lookbook

The times have certainly changed. Plus-sized women went from the two options of 1) squeezing into fashionable clothes that weren't her size 2) overspending on mediocrity to now having ENDLESS fashion options. Online boutiques and retailers have certainly been the thanks for most of my chic #OOTD ensembles. However, what's being offered by many of these vendors are definitely trendy and sassy, but not always appropriate for work ... and let's face it, we WORK five days and PLAY only two. I believe every young woman should possess a generous amount of casual, mature, corporate-friendly attire within their wardrobe. That's not to be confused with BORING. One can definitely be sexy, yet safe.

When choosing pieces for work/ church,  i'd recommend shopping the super affordable inventory of retailers that specialize in vintage garments. Pair a retro piece with several modern pieces and you're nearly guaranteed to be cute as a button unique/ standout, and appropriate. My top choice is previously featured Diva Xpress of Douglasville, GA.

Look # 1 Mini Dress on a Winter Day

Pair a dress that would normally be a little too short for the occasion with black opaque tights and boots and instantly create the illusion of a longer garment (now that your skin is actually covered). You're not sexy anyway until you can be so fully clothed. #YesShade. (handmade bag from Gloss Tress)

Look # 2 Mesh on the Clock

Mesh is one of the riskier of the current fashions trending at the moment. However, it being transparent, makes it totally off limits for the workplace. If you want to pull mesh off at work, i'd wear it waist down, a midi. Mesh tops are just too sexy. Pair the knee-length skirt with a totally conservative blouse, like the one Diva Xpress sent me, some classic pumps, and you're cute & ready!
