Head to Toe Retro

Wearing an outfit that consists entirely of vintage/ retro-inspired pieces can easily end in disaster. Finding balance is the key to accomplishing a look that is clean, chic, and sharp. Vintage clothing would be my unmatched recommendation to those looking to establish an (affordable) signature style that is exclusive and unlike what they see surrounding them on a daily basis. Almost anything labeled as "outdated" can be brought back to life somehow.

I loved the combination of bold print & warm colors on this feel-good, genuine silk blouse! However, it was very oversized and looked like a nightshirt without alteration. I cinched (belted) it at the waist and rolled it at the sleeves. I'd originally planned to tie it up into a crop top, but that took away from the meticulous design of the top.

Blouse sent from my favorite online resale shop, Diva Xpress. The spot if you want FIRE vintage pieces, but get overwhelmed in the thrift store. Shop Diva Xpress & rack up in the $5 section!

The brown high-waist jeans are also oldies, they're very sleek (and cozy) so I chose them over denim jeans (which i'm sure would have been ideal). The heels were one of my first expensive pairs I purchased back in high school, so they're oldies also. All of my accessories are thrifted, excluding the retro-inspired layered gold chain belt from Ready to Stare.
