Born &
raised in Harlem, NYC, Ceejaye E. Iman grew up around art, culture, and
diversity; it’s as if being an artist was in her DNA. Ceejaye is completely self-taught. Her love for makeup and skincare began as
a young teen, when her grandmother and mother would
purchase/ distribute Avon & Mary Kay
products and browse department stores’ makeup counters.
At the age of 16, family, friends, and
counterparts confirmed her drive for all things makeup, when they purchased her
1st makeup kit. She was not allowed to wear her creations
to school, but still practiced at home on a regular basis until her parents
allowed her to wear makeup publicly. In 2003, Ceejaye graduated from high school and then attended college; she branched
out and moved to Chicago in 2012 and has not since
looked back.
Since
then, she has worked
along noted photographers and fellow MUAs from
all levels in the industry. She has worked on countless photo shoots, runways shows, films, and special occasions for both
local and national clients. Just this year, she has worked with “Orange is the New Black” star, Laverne Cox, and has
received guidance from You Tube sensation & celebrity MUA Tatiana “BeatFaceHoney” Ward, as well as celebrity MUAs Renny Vasquez & Reggie Wells.
Currently,
in addition to freelancing, Ceejaye has joined the ranks with the beauty
experts of French cosmetic chain, Sephora. This
brand is a young but quickly expanding innovative
force in the beauty industry that specializes in exclusive high-end cosmetics, skincare, and fragrances.
This experience, paired with the passion
to always bring out the best in every face her hands touch, is why she has
always and will continue to push herself until she is considered a leading
Makeup Artist & Beauty Expert.
