On-the-Go Retro #OOTD + Ceejaye's BeYOUty Corner

Today I am wearing a blue, black, and rust colored (button down) retro blouse. I LOVE vintage tops because (as opposed to modern blouses) they are well-made, bold, durable, standout piece. My denim, acid-washed skirt has a retro feel to it as well, as all of the bottoms of the past sat high on the waist. It is the Megan Skirt, gifted from Eye Candy Inc.(currently sold out).

When I get dressed, I feel like it is necessary to do so from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. Have you ever just tried on an outfit and  did not work as you imagined until your hair and makeup was done? “Neck up” details are as significant as your choice of shoes and accessories; these particulars have the potential to easily make or break your look.

I'm a super girly girly girlish girl, and I've been told i'm extra and don't know how to be practical ... lol, with that being said, THIS is my look for a Saturday afternoon (lunch, movie date, mani/ pedi, etc.) . I feel it's pretty casual. The (Steve Madden) heels are interchangeable; some strappy (flat) sandals will #SERVE just fine.

My neck-up details include my signature "between hairstyles" #Queen topknot. I've been receiving a lot of questions about doing How-To post for this bun/ However, it turns out differently every time I do it and is really about preference. I used 2 packs of regular Kanekalon braiding hair (1B, even though you can probably see the front on my hair was dyed red). I bun my own hair to the top of my head, twist the braiding hair, wrap it around my own bun (showing my hair in the middle), and pin it until I  like how it looks (BIG! Everything big!). Simple. I don't think that requires a seperate post. Warning: Yes, it is heavy.

My makeup is SUPER NATURAL. I completed my look with a Maybelline foundation, a MAC setting powder, a snatched brow, and some taupe lip gloss. Ceejaye created a more glamorous look that complimented the outfit for those days when you want to put more effort into your beat.

CeeJaye's BEYOUty Corner

So, based on today's #OOTD post, I've created an AWESOME look that not only compliments the color palette in the outfit, but makes luscious lips stand out!

Neutral colors don't mean "boring".

Create a neutral-toned glam eye look by using shades of chocolate brown, gold, and bronze shades ... and don't stop there. Line and define eyes with a rich, matte, black liner and play up lashes. Use false strip lashes, or 3-4 coats of the blackest mascara to achieve this look. Finish the look off with a ultra sexy lilac, mauve, or purple lip.Product listing:
