“Getting into It”/ Undressing
I’m not entirely certain if my longer nails were the issue, but the most difficult part of this experience was latching all of those hooks together. The pressure from your protruding stomach against the strength of the vest will cause hooks to unfasten as you button down if you’re moving too. Take your time with this step and you’ll be fine. Taking the corset off was as easy (if not easier) than taking your bra off.
Sizing
The Plus Hardcore Vest is made of a very resilient material that stretches, but not enough for one to fit into the wrong size. There is a general size chart available for your use, but I felt that it was too generic for anyone with a curvy/ unique figure to follow closely. Aqua, the owner of SBN, personally selected the perfect fit for me. I am wearing a 46; according to the chart that’s approximately a 5X, for someone weighing about 240 pounds, and a size 22 pants. I am actually 46-48 inches around my hips, weigh closer to 255 pounds, and a size 18 pants. So it’s a little generic. If you’re unsure, before purchasing, consult with Aqua (slimbynight@gmail.com).
Comfort – Normal Activity
The nature of this garment is for it to be restrictive, constraining the fatty areas of your mid-section. With that being said, and me not being used to it, it wasn’t so easy to bend and do excessive activity (cleaning the bathroom) with the vest on. Upright chores (such as dishwashing) were a piece of cake.
Comfort – Slumber
Honestly, I sleep normally naked, all over the place, constantly changing positions and trying to stay cool … so wearing ANYTHING at all is a no for me. However, I can say that with all of the movement I was doing through the night, my hips did not casue the SBN vest to roll up.
Body Modification
Previously, a lower grade, wholesale corset did NOTHING for me; actually made me appear wide(r). The SBN garment did its job. Be advised, my waist is naturally inclined, so there wasn’t a significant change in my waist measurements. However, the appearance of my waist to hip ratio became smoother/ cleaner. I was most amazed by the complete flattening of the lower stomach pouch I’ve carried all of my life. That spare tire around my waist disappeared. Back fat isn’t an issue for me personally, so my back looked normal.
Visibility Under Clothing
If you desire, you can wear this piece underneath clothing for a flawless look. You can see the wire a tad, but like a bra strap or spanx print, nothing too evident.
