Casual OOTD: Flirty & Fem + "(Not So) Small Talk"

Outfit Details:

When you have an extended list of not-so-fun errands to knock out on a 90 degree Saturday morning while cramping, the outfit of choice is going to be based on comfort ... because really, you don't want to wear anything (but that's illegal), lol.

I decided to finally wear my floral, chiffon skirt sent from Admirable Stylz, an online boutique offering unique secondhand (vintage) merchandise. This flowy, retro piece was marked down to only $6 and is so perfect for Spring, yet I only got to wear it a single time. Buying price was only $6. While this was the only one available, she offers very similar pieces on her site for <$10 and everyday free shipping ... DEAL! Visit  www.admirablestylz.com for other options

The tucked in coral blouse comes from my amazing sponsor's, Cori Coren Boutique, Spring 2013 collection. It features draping at the neckline and peeping shoulder cutouts. It has since sold out. Pairing this piece with the pleated skirt makes a very feminine ensemble, yet it is long enough to wear with leggings and casual enough to wear with a pair of skinny jeans.

My bag and shoes were purchased locally, both were discovered sitting so lonely on the clearance rack (of course!). My bag comes from Ross Stores, it was 50% off marked down to a mere $15. I have already worn it several times (before this lovely Spring season concludes) as it pairs beautifully with just about anything, perfect pop of color.

After eyeing them online literally all year, I bought the shoes from a local shoe store about 2 weeks ago. They sort of have an old fashioned look to them ... but, that's right up my alley. They were having a $9 each or 4 for $20 sandal sale, to clear them out before the boots arrive. While i'm not supposed to be buying unnecessary shoes lol, who is passing up THESE types of sales? Lol. I got the 1 for $9 deal as opposed to the REAL bargain :( trying to behave. They were 75% off and very comfortable for all day wear (no arch support, though)

(Not So) Small Talk:

While out, I was hit with the oh-so-mediocre "you dress really nice ... to be a big girl" line, as if it's unheard of or prohibited for a big girl to be on her A-game. Like, if I were petite, I wouldn't hold such a title. Foolishness.

To add fuel to the fire, the ones distributing such half-ass compliments were 3 even bigger girls -_- Of course it grinds my gears whenever I hear that line, or the "big girls need love, too" or anything else inviting us to a big ass Pity Party ... but I did not react, but smiled and kept'a swaying instead. It's quite simple to differentiate between who is trying to be a jerk and who is actually ignorant. Not ignorant the way we use it in everyday conversation (someone who is stupid, ratchet, juvenile), but LITERALLY ignorant (someone who is uninformed). Everyone has not yet received the memo that when "we" dress nice, are beautiful, are sexy, etc. ... it's not under any conditions. We are not unique ---> to be big girls. We are unique ---> because we are big, gorgeous, confident women.

That is all.
