Shundra is a print-mixing beast, (yea, you heard me right!) and has inspired me on several occasions to take an additional step outside of "the box" and into a vast world of endless wardrobe options. "I strive to be my own unique individual through the experimenting with colors, fabrics, and patterns painted gracefully on my body", she explains, when asked about her signature style. "I'm weird, classy, eccentric, and jazzy wrapped up in a plus-sized package. That's my definition of style. Simply doing me"
I enjoy everything she posts, but the Black & White pattern mixing (femme) animal in me REALLY appreciated the ensemble above. So I recreated the look. She constantly stresses the importance of making a look your own and not being on the hunt for piece by piece of a collage, especially because some of the dresses are $5000+ and other pieces aren't even offered for the plus-sized woman.
I came up this cute number! #DNCInspired!
That strapless dress with breast cups is NOT FOR these 38G's. So I made this look my own by tucking my Forever 21 blouse ($17.80) into an ASOS Curve Leather Skater Skirt ($33) creating the fit-and-flare look shown in the original. My neon chain belt comes from one of my afternoon bargain hunts, found on Simply Fashion's clearance rack for $1.97! I purchased the neon pink one as well, would have gotten every color actually. The bag comes from there as well, $12.99. I didn't have pointed solid yellow pumps so I wore my platform pumps from Go Jane instead.
If you are searching to hire a stylist for a special occasion, this is my recommendation for you. Do not hesitate to reach out to Shundra: stylebydnicole@gmail.com, @StyleByDNicole on IG.
