#OneCozySummer Lookbook - (UPDATE!)

As previously mentioned in my 7 Fads, Summer Challenge post, free-flowing, looser fitting garments are so simple and so ideal for Florida's continuously scorching weather. It's feminine and glides with your movement as the wind twirls through the layers of the fabric. I have avoided it before, because it indeed conceals your curves/ waistline ... and I guess i'm a show off. However, there are ways to put your curves/ skin back on display as you rock these types of pieces this Summer.

Look #1: The Harem Jumper

In case you haven't been informed, there are in fact ways to pull off this very eccentric, "love me or hate me" type garment. It's super loose and only clings at the breasts and where the leg openings are, allowing fresh air in through the day. I have worn one like this before, and thought a belt was necessary/ mandatory ... but restriction at the waist totally opposes what's considered to be comfortable. The garment, surprisingly, worked without the belt and I maneuvered the fabric to gather in all the right spots, according to my physique. Even though it's designed to be oversized, you will need to make sure you're getting your correct size. It looks like DISASTER if it's too big.

Look #2: The Draping Poncho

I've been itching to get my hands on one of these! It's very different from what i'm accustomed to and I wanted a style challenge. Did I ace it #OrNah? This particular garment is completely isolated from the skin, and I was completely comfortable ALL DAY! Even after stuffing my face to its limits. I paired the piece with some denim shorts (another piece from my previous post) but it was so much fabric that they were mostly concealed. After I got too full, I took the shorts off (#DontJudgeMe) and the poncho doubled up as a (very appropriate) dress. It's a must that I cop in black as well.

Look # 3: The Relaxed Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit fits to the form somewhat, as you can see. The material, however, is a very soft cotton that is tapered (but not skinny) on the legs and has a "dropped crotch" and spacious waistline/ breast coverage. It showed my curves and clung a little, but I was totally comfortable wearing this garment, with rust colored neutral flats.

Look # 4: The Chiffon Romper

What's even cozier than slipping on a one-piece garment (jumpsuit, romper)? The garment being that lets your thunder thighs loose! I'm talking rompers (short + blouse combo, the equivalent of a shortened jumpsuit). Remember how wild/ free we were when rocking rompers as kids? No restrictions (as a bodycon may do), no boundaries. I'm trying to feel like that again this Summer. Comfort is the theme. Rich Girlz' Closet provided this chic, leopard printed romper , a new FAVE of mine. It has puffy, non-clinging sleeves (because nothing's worse than TIGHT sleeves + heat) and is made completely of a chiffon material, upping the fancy. With that being said, it DOES NOT STRETCH at all, size up. I paired it with nude sandals and gold accessories (belt included) and was ready to go. Cute, casual, cozy, easy!

Look # 5: The Maxi(s)

This chic, earthy "Gabby Leaf" maxi dress from Curvaceous Boutique was the source of my comfort as I enjoyed a dinner with my family from out of town. I was cozy, I was cute, I was dressed for the occasion, and I didn't have to wear any annoying shapewear or shave my cave-woman legs. EASY. I'm 5'6, with flats, and the dress was pretty long. I ended up wearing some wedge heels and the length was PERFECT. This dress is tall-girl friendly, or ideal with some type of heel if you're short/ average height. Although, I must say, I like my maxis to graze the ground a little. That's just me. This C.B. maxi is also available in a plethora of other colors ... i'm thinking I need another!

Look # 6: The Cape

One thing I've been doing all Summer is remaining cute/ chic, comfortable, in convenient and casual ensembles. This is a fairly difficult task for someone who's easily overdressed on the daily, lol, I think I've mastered it these past few months.

The Cape Top (available in black or olive) sent from Beautiful Curves Boutique was the perfect foundation for an evening at the movies ensemble. I'll definitely be getting a lot of wear out of this piece as it's versatile, conceals (no tummy!), and flows so cozy. I paired it with sleek jeans in a contrasting color (white), and a printed wedge and was DONE. Easy.

Look #7: Joggers

Joggers (& harem pants) are my favorite type of trousers, because of the relaxed fit, especially in the crotch area where my pants are always gathered/ snug. I'm always comfortable in a pair of these, and you can easily dress them up (here) or down with sandals and sneakers.
