12 Things Every Fatshionista Should Have

1) A Plethora of Belts

  • Creates a waistline in shapeless clothing
  • Prevents us from looking biggeon r in oversized clothing
  • Perfect way to add a pop of color/ design

2) Peplum Tops

  • Form fitting blouse with flare at waist
  • Conceals stomach pouch
  • Puts waistline in the spotlight; creates one if that is a problem area
  • Super feminine

3) Skinny Pants

  • Flattering on thick, curvy legs
  • Nice, clean, tailored look
  • Almost always cuffable, versatile
  • TIP: pick correct sizing, as with any jeans, to avoid a muffin top

4) Fashion Frames

  • Super cute & ideal on a chubby face, as we are wearing them and they're not wearing us
  • Good for those days where you just don't wanna do your nakeup, refocuses attention

5) Chunky/ Wedge Heels

  • Very trendy, yet extremely comfortable, easy to wear all day
  • Durable, efficiently supports our weight
  • Many color/ pattern/ height options

6) Bodycon Garments

  • Perfect garment to showcase your confidence and kick up your sex appeal
  • Depending on preference, may choose to wear supportive undergarments
  • Usually shows precisely how your body looks without clothes, revealing
  • TIP: choose your correct size, just because they stretch quite a bit does not mean they're One Size
  • TIP: these skirts/ dresses come in several lengths, from mini, knee-length, to ankle, pick your fave

7) Classic White Button Up

  • Looks chic and standard paired with almost anything (jeans, pencil skirt, slacks, etc.)
  • Good to have for the business casual environment/ interview

8) High-Waist Bottoms

  • Very versatile, can go casual with a tank top, edgy with a boustier, femme with a chiffon to
  • A good pair of HW jeans will tighten up that stomach pudge, highlights waistline

9) Supportive (Strapless) Bra

  • I get asked "where do you get your bras? " more than anything else by far. I mean, besides the girls being beyond average-sized + heavy, I don't have extensive bust issues. I do not spend $100 on bras designed specifically for plus-sized women like some of my peers. Instead I get all my bras from Dillard's for about $35 each. That may still be a stretch to some, but I feel like triple D cups do not fit and should not be in $10 bras. Invest in support.
  • There isn't a specific type I purchase from Dillard's, as long as it has underwire, it is my correct size, has 3-4 prongs at the back, and is not padded. Also, make sure your straps are tightened at all times!

10) Flattering Swim Suit

  • Find a swimsuit that works for your body type, not just one that is popular.
  • Fatkini's are definitely IN! But if a one-piece looks better on your physique, get the one piece. I personally think the high rise of fatkini's only work on the hourglass or pear frame.
  • TIP, of course it stretches, but get the the right size! There aren't many things that look worse than a swimsuit a few sizes too small.

11) Arrangement  of Camis

  • Ideal for underneath chiffon or transparent tops
  • Perfect for a major, centered pop of color
  • For those extra casual days, throw a denim jacket atop, tuck it in a cute printed skirt, & go
  • TIP: Again, get the right size! Just because it stretches does not mean it fits.

12) Dainty Flats

  • Just recently learned that having a plethora of cute flats accessible was convenience at its best, after wearing heels almost every day since 2005. As you grow up and there is more to do than just stunt through the halls of your high school, you learn that adding 5 inches to your natural height everyday isn't always necessary.
  • Pointy flats are my fave, they just provide that extra uumph. Make sure they're true to size or size up, my most beautiful pair of flats are SO painful :( you cannot squeeze in these, lol.
