While reflecting on how far we've come as a nation this Independence Day holiday, I could not overlook how far WE also have come as a Plus-Sized Community. We are the epitome of "starting from the bottom, now we here."
I'm telling you, they never expected us to ditch that frumpy wardrobe designed to conceal the lumps, bumps, and curves that make us particularly beautiful. They never would have thought that in 2013, our matching thunder thighs and dancing arms would no longer be labeled flaws. They would have chuckled at the thought of us strutting through the sands of the beach in 2-piece bathing suits, no cover-ups. But we fought to get here as well, and made it.
The Hourglass, Pear, Rectangle, Apple ... we're all here. Unrestricted, bold, undefined, sensual, fierce, and confident as ever, we're coming out & we want the world to see. So we put on a body-con and show 'em :)
