I recently did an interview with Curvaceous Redemption Magazine, to be in their 2015 wrap-up edition. The February 2016 issue was released today. I was surprised to find out that the brand recognized me as "Fashion Icon of the Year". Let me elaborate. I don't generally label myself an icon. I dress (you know). I #WearWhatiWant, sometimes it's admired, sometimes it's not ... every time i'm content in my ensemble. I DIY, large wholesale companies rip off the outfit idea and sell it as their own. Women tag me in their versions of my OOTD: beautiful and full of pride. I have a lot of followers. I am a big, fine woman. I am confident. But have never labeled myself a fashion icon. Always thought there were too stipulations attached to that title. Like "model".
I just shop. Wherever I want. Boutiques, name brands, Target, thrift stores. I don't even know (care) what's "in/ out" for the season. I dress. I floss on 'em. The recognition was love, though, and the entire publication was done beautifully. Did you peep?
Thank you, Curvaceous Magazine!
Sincerely,
Your Fashion Icon 😉
