Get This Mockery Out of Here ...

#Nah

I was tagged in this mess a couple times and was initially going to keep scrolling ... before seeing several plush pals of mine "yaaaaaaas"-ing it to their timelines.

I know you're impatiently waiting for the fat girl's big break. But. This is NOT it.

We can't be so wrapped up in becoming the thing, becoming the norm, being preferred, being chosen, being admired to the point where we start to accept any and every form of acknowledgement.

We have to feel so regal that when we see music videos displaying us in the usual, stereotypical light (overeating, acting desperately) ... it's repulsive. Not supported.

We have to stop automatically vibing to anything with a hot beat before paying attention to what we're subconsciously absorbing. I mean, Drake was pushing it with his racy two-liner, but thisssss shit.

We have to pay attention to prospective partners who are deeming this as "dope", and what their actual agenda looks like when it comes to pursuing/ dating "us".

We have to know ourselves thoroughly.

I AM fat, not "Just a Lil' Thick".
Stop letting people play on your insecurities.

"You never see a big ho beggin' for shit, and if you fuck her good she might buy you a whip, and if you say you love her she might pay the rent" .

That's what he saaaaaaiiiiiiiiiidddd ... as I proceeded to mute the song.

This is not plus support or empowering in any form.

"A big ho"? Y'all tolerate that?
We don't expect what everyone else expects in a relationship?
We pay for sex?
We buy our men?
Why is the white dude waving chicken in the air? (I don't get it)
This is what y'all are tagging me in.
A joke, a mockery. Laughing AT us.

But i'm sure you didn't hear the lyrics because you were soooo overwhelmed to see someone who actually resembled you in a music video. Well. Don't let it happen again, ladies!

If you don't stand for something, you''l fall for any and EVERYTHING.
