10 Things: Shopping at Asos (Curve)

1) FREE SHIPPING!
While competitors are charging by the item to ship merchandise out, Asos offers free standard shipping all year around. No Minimum. No Code, No Catch. You can buy something for $1 (never going to happen, lol) and utilize this feature, without it being a special holiday or entering a code. I love. We all have said "nah" to an awesome find at least once before, not wanting to pay an additional $7 shipping/ handling charge. Well now, all you gotta do is say yes :) #SeeWhatIdidThere?

2) Unidays Student Discount
After verifying that you are actually a student, and registering with Unidays, Asos offers a year-round 10% discount to students. It's not much, but it's something right?

3) Size Down
It seems that every time I purchase something in my normal size, it falls right off. I have to take it to the cleaners for major alterations EVERY time. I bought some peg pants, not knowing they had an elastic waistband, in my jeans size 18. Had to take over 6 inches off the waistline. Bought a size 16 dress that was supposed to be a pencil fit, but was baggy. So now I get 14's. Fortunately, with size 14 & below, you have the option to shop the regular sizes also. Of course this section of the site has MUCH more merchandise than the Curve/ Plus section -_-

4) Awesome Markdowns
It's usually the items that are already pretty low-priced. The bodycon midi skirts always get marked down for example, going from $27-$35 to $10-$15. By the time this happens, only the much bigger sizes are left (24, 26, 28, etc.) . If you see something you NEED in your lifeee, grab it immediately.

5) Duplicates?
Right now, the site has about 8 skater skirts listed. They all just about look the same. The weird part is they range from approximately $10-$50. I don't know if the material/ construction is better, if it's lined, or what. It's a mystery.

6) Size 14 & 16 = GONE!
These two sizes are very common and "standard" for young, plus women. Also, because of the big fit, some size 18's can fit those sizes  as well. They NEVER stick around. In fact, I wanted to order a (size 14) skirt yesterday, went back for it only 3 hours later, GONE. Again,  see something you NEED in your life? Grab it immediately.

7) OUTSTANDING Customer Service
I always have a question about something, lol, when you contact their customer care department (via e-mail), they send an immediate response saying they received your inquiry and that they'll respond within only 4 hours. Other sites ask us to allow them 2-4 days to respond. I even became irate about a particular situation where my package was lost, and received a pleasant response + an exclusive coupon code in return. Amazing customer service experience.

8) Some things just aren't worth it. Some things are ugly
Period. Some things on the site need to STAY on the site. Just because it's listed doesn't automatically make it hot. Some things are WAY overpriced, and you could find extremely similar ones at a thrift store. They should also stay on the site. Never shell out big bucks for trendy items.

9) You won't be the only one...
So, there's this skirt I purchased right? I LIVED when I saw it online Pure life! Lol. Over time, I realized that every plus-sized FATshionista also had this skirt. Literally was seeing it on 10 different people daily (Instagram). I have my own style and definiely don't mind this. But, if you're one who has to be the only one wearing a garment, you might want to pass on Asos's lower end garments.

10) Shopping Cart Hold/ Save for Later
There's a feature on the site that allows you to save items in a file to come back to later. To me, it''s like creating my own personal Asos Curve Lookbook. When you're ready to check out, items are held in your cart for 60 minutes, another convenient feature.
