Introducing "Eleven60" by Kierra Sheard

Saturday, gospel singer, Kierra Sheard, will launch her plus-sized clothing line: Eleven60 (named in honor of her prized mother). The fresh, high-end line, designed keeping full-figured women in mind, is set to be released entirely in the Fall of this year, but presales will begin in coordination with the site’s launching this Saturday, June 20, 2015. Sizes 10-22 are being offered.

When Eleven60 was just in its planning stages, I had the privilege of viewing the sketchbook and chatting privately with the BET’s “Sunday Best” judge. Sheard expressed that the line would consist of some of her favorite features in a garment: high waistlines, heavyduty/ quality material, bold zippers, exaggerated coat tails, subtle prints, neutral hues, and earth tones. She personally trusts these specific elements to help her look her best when dressing up. The need for more modern, high-fashion options in this market overly-saturated with so much casual clothing (such as streetwear and clubwear) was also avidly conveyed.

“I want to promote the message ‘you’re worth more than what you’ve been given’,” Sheard told me when asked about why she started this project/ mission. “I’ve learned that full-figured apparel represents almost eighteen billion dollars and is still growing. However, we haven’t been accepted into the high-fashion realm,” she stated. “Why?! Let’s show them how and why we should be accepted.” Sheard believes that the plus-sized fashion industry has reached grand heights, but still has much more room to elevate … because, of course, there are no limits. But you all knew that already ^_^

“Eleven60 is a clothing line that complements the thick woman. While being a full-figured woman, I’ve found it hard to find quality and high fashion trends in my size,” she projected while initially introducing the line. “No more skimpy clothes, no more moo moos. The average American woman is full-figured, we should be able to healthily and fabulously own it!”
